5 Days | 4 Nights – Discover Old Stone Town

The morning after Breakfast we will proceed with Stone Town, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Cultural Arts Centre of East Africa. You will have the Stone Town City Tour which will take you around the historical culture and architectural important town of Zanzibar with a century of history. It includes a visit to the former slave market site, which now stands as an Anglican church built in 1871, a town market, a visit the Zanzibar Memorial Museum, House of Wonder built-in 1883 (Beit-Al-Ajab), Old Arab Fort, Palace Museum, Old Indian dispensary (Cultural Center). After Lunch(not included) at any recommendable restaurant in Stone Town, you will take a trip to Prison Island or Changuu Island. This is the middle island of the three visible from the Stone Town. It takes approximately 30 minutes to get there by boat. The prison which was never used on this island was built in 1893 but was later used as a Quarantine Hospital. Apart from the Prison ruins you will also see the enormous giant tortoises which are the main attraction of the island. At 8:00 am after breakfast, we shall drive to Jozani Forest. This is a natural reserve, that lies 35 km South East from Zanzibar City between Chawaka Bay and Uzi Bay. The only remaining natural forest of Unguja covers an area of 10 square km. The forest, with trees older than 100 years, is the sanctuary for some very interesting animals, including the Red Colobus monkey, the small Zanzibar leopard, the blue monkey, chameleon, mongoose, bush baby, tree hyrax, bush pig, civet, and two small antelope species found only on Zanzibar, Zanzibar duiker and Sunni We then go ahead with the Spice Tour. On this tour, you will see and taste the tropical fruits, spices plantations, or plots on the island. A variety of spices plants used as ornament, medicines, flowers, fruits, and other interesting flora can be seen during the spice tour and if you have time, you will visit the Kidichi bath built in 1850 by the first Sultan for his wife Sheharzad (Granddaughter of Fateh Ali Shah of Persia). Back to the hotel after the tours for evening leisure and overnight

Have some leisure at the Hotel till the time for your transfer to the Airport to catch your flight back home (Pickup from the hotel will depend on the flight departure time).
